Cyclones Claim Central Division Title

Game 1

The Cyclones collected twelve hits, including five doubles in route to defeating their Northern Division rivals the Raiders. The Cyclones Austin Gohl, a freshman, right hander form Sartell-St. Stephen High School started on the mound, he threw five innings to earn the win. He scattered four hits, issued one walk and he recorded nine strikeouts. Luis Massa Ortiz had a good game, he went 2-4 with a double for three RBIs and Matt Quade went 2-3 with two doubles for a RBI and he scored a pair of runs. Alex Jinkins the sophomore from Altoona, Wisconsin, the Cyclones catcher, went 1-2 with a home run and a sacrifice bunt for four big RBI's and he earned a walk. Nathan Pereira the Cyclones shortstop went 2-3, he earned a walk and he scored a pair of runs. Ethan Carlson the Cyclones right fielder went 2-2, he earned a walk and he scored a pair of runs. Carlos Reyes went 1-3 with a double, a stolen base and he scored a run. Larry Rodriquez went 1-2, he earned a walk, he had a stolen base and he scored a run. Logan Aleshire the Cyclones third baseman earned a walk and he scored a run and Matt Johnson scored a run.

 

The Raiders, Levi Jeska was the pitcher of record for the Raiders, he started on the mound, he threw 3 2/3 innings. Devon Brown went 1-2 with a double, Alanza Knowles went 1-2, Alan Pietila went 1-2 and Alex Guggenberger earned a walk.

 

 

 

 

Game 2

The Cyclones defeated their rivals the Raiders to earn the Central Divisional championship. They collected thirteen hits, including five extra base hits, that included a walk off home run. The Cyclones starting pitcher, Hunter Malachek a freshman from Maple Lake High School threw five innings to earn the win. He scattered four hits, issued one walk and he recorded nine strikeouts. This included a leadoff double for the Raiders, a single and a walk to load the bases in the top of the first inning. Hunter proceeded to strikeout the side. Carlos Reyes had a big game, he went 3-3 with a home run and a double for four big RBI's. Logan Aleshire went 3-3 with two big RBIs and he scored a pair of runs. Luis Massa Ortiz had a good game, he went 2-4 with a home run for two RBIs, a stolen base and he scored three runs. It was Luis home run that ended the game on the ten run rule, in the bottom of the fifth inning. Matt Quade had good game, he went 2-3 with a pair of doubles for two RBIs and he scored a pair of runs. Ethan Carlson had a good game, he went 2-3 with a double and one stolen base. Zach Fuecker went 2-3 with a stolen base and he scored two runs, Larry Rodriquez earned a walk and Brady Burgau was credited with a RBI.

 

The Raiders, Hunter Moye was the pitcher of record, he was their starting pitcher. Josh Fussy went 1-3 with a double, Jacob Strong went 1-2, Eric Kossan went 1-2 and Malich Barry went 1-2.
