Baseball: Funk named Region Player of the Year

Freshman Will Funk (Sauk Centre) has been named NJCAA Region XIII Player of the Year. The Cyclone utility man led the Cyclones in many offensive categories.  He Led the Cyclones in hits, batting average, and Home Runs.  Funk was a regular at the top of the lineup driving in 44 runs, 8 doubles, while crossing the plate 50 times.  In the field, Funk proved to be versatile.  Throughout the year, he played all 3 positions in the outfield as well as 2nd base and 3rd base.

Sophomore Luis Massa also was named to the NJCAA Region XIII team.  Massa hit .444 with 29 extra base hits out of his 56 hits.  Luis drove in 60 runs with 20 doubles, 2 triples, and 7 home runs.  

The Cyclones finished as the Region XIII Baseball Runner's Up while also winning the MCAC Central Division.  The Cyclones finished 36-7.
