Bio

David is a 2010 Sauk Rapids-Rice High School graduate and former member of the Sauk Rapids Storm, Indian Hills Falcons, St. Cloud State University Huskies, and Duluth Huskies out of the Northwoods League. He currently resides in Sauk Rapids, MN and plays town ball for a local amateur team, the Sartell Muskies.

 

In High School David was a three sport athlete and captain.

  • Baseball – Captain and was pitcher and shortstop for the Storm and holds the school record for the lowest ERA 0.90.
  • Football – Captain and played QB and was 17-4 as a starter.
  • Basketball – Captain, averaged over 20 PPG his senior season.

 

An honors student-athlete, David graduated from SCSU with degrees in Mass Communications and Communication Studies where he was a part of the award winning UTVS News and Sports program and Lambda Pi Eta. He spent some time doing some on-air play-by-play and color commentating as well as some behind the scenes producing for all Husky sports.

He was a sports production intern at FOX Sports North his senior year at SCSU working along side professional broadcasts.

 

He was a pitching mainstay in the SCSU Huskies bullpen, often finding himself late in games in the set-up and closer role. Through 49 innings, David struck out 55. A member of the All-NSIC academic team, David was a part of 84 victories, one NSIC Championship and two regional tournament appearances over two seasons with SCSU.

 

His time in the Northwoods league was spent playing out a full contract for the Duluth Huskies. Kroger posted a 3.49 era as a reliever and was 2-0 on the mound.

 

Early parts of his collegiate playing career were spent down in the southern part of Iowa, playing for the Indian Hills CC Falcons who are members of NJCAA DI. With over 40 innings pitched he went 2-1 on the mound with 3.85 ERA. When he wasn’t on the mound he found himself in the outfield.

 

David is a young, energetic trainer whose life has been changed by health, fitness and baseball. Post graduation, he has turned his attention back to the game which he has been apart of for 23+ years. This move is what brought him here to St. Cloud Technical and Community College. In addition to coaching for the Cyclones, David is a baseball Coach and Trainer for the Minnesota MASH. David has also obtained his Personal Training certificate through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), where he specializes in Personal Training, Performance Enhancement and Fitness Nutrition. His passion for sharing his baseball and fitness knowledge is what makes him a perfect fit here at SCTCC.

 

In his free time, he loves to spend it with family, his fiancé, friends, and traveling.
