SB: Cyclones win MCAC South

For the 3rd consecutive year, the Cyclones Softball team won the MCAC Southern Division Championship. The Cyclones finished in 19-1 in the MCAC (36-7 overall).  The Cyclones are also currently ranked #3 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.  As a team, the Cyclones have been among the nation's best in many offensive categories.  Freshman Ashley Pool is 3rd in the nation with 9 Home Runs.  Sophomores Chloe Callahan and Shania Kinghorn are ranked 7th and 8th in hits nationally.  As a team, the Cyclones rank in the top 10 in virtually every offensive category.

Once again, the Cyclones have been very solid in the pitching circle.  Shania Kinghorn and Ashley Pool have thrown the most innings this season for the Cyclones.  Kinghorn has thrown 4 no hitters this season.  As a staff, the Cyclones lead the country in shutouts with 18. The staff has a 2.24 era.  The Cyclones have fielded at a .950 clip.

The Cyclones will host the NJCAA Region XIIIA Tournament at River's Edge Park, May 11-12.  The Cyclones will face off against the MN West Blue Jays in the first round.  The winner of the 4 team double elimination tournament will advance to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament in Rochester, MN May 18-20.  The Cyclones have advanced to the National Tournament in 2013,2015, and 2016.
