Cyclones Split Week 2
On Friday the Cyclones traveled to Brainerd for a triangular with CLC (ranked 4th in the nation) and NDSCS (D2). First NDSCS faced CLC and the Wildcats won 3-1.
The Cyclones then took on the Wildcats and they earned a 3-1 victory. Anastasia Larson, first year middle from Big Lake, led with 14 kills and 2 blocks. Kalli Mathiasen, sophomore setter from St Cloud Apollo, earned 33 set assists and 3 service aces. Leading the defense was Chelsea Schroeder, sophomore libero from Rocori, with 14 digs.
In last match of the day, SCTCC versus CLC, the Cyclones fell 1-3 in a hard fought battle. Kill leader with 7 kills was Kalie Jergens, sophomore outside hitter from Becker, Mathiasen earned 19 set assists while Schroeder earned 11 digs.
The Cyclones are on the road for week 3 traveling to Anoka Ramsey Community College on September 6 and MN West in Worthington on Sept 8. The Cyclones next home match is Wednesday, September 13 versus the Warriors of Ridgewater.
