Cyclones over Spartans and Golden Rams

Wednesday the Cyclones hosted the Spartans of M-State Fergus Falls and were victorious in a 3-2 battle.  Kalie Jergens, sophomore outside hitter from Becker, led in kills with 19, followed by Kyra Harvey, sophomore outside hitter from Sauk Rapids, with 16 kills.  Kalli Mathiasen, sophomore setter from St Cloud Apollo, ran the offense with 54 set assists.   Jergens led in digs with 17 followed by sophomore libero from Rocori, Chelsea Schroeder, who had 16 digs. Anastasia Larson, first year middle from Big Lake, defended the net with 3 blocks. 

Friday the Golden Rams from Anoka traveled to St Cloud but fell to the Cyclones 0-3.  Stat leaders included Jergens with 13 kills and 5 service aces, Mathiasen with 30 set assists, while Schroeder led in digs with 20.

The Cyclones are 13-3 overall, 6-0 in the MCAC South and ranked 4th in the latest NJCAA poll.  The Cyclones host two conference matches next week; Rochester Community and Technical College on Wednesday, September 27th at 6:30pm and Riverland Community College on Friday, September 29th at 6:30pm.
