Jergens, Mathiasen Named All- Americans

After the best season in SCTCC Volleyball history, the Cyclones have their first All-Americans.  Kalie Jergens, sophomore outside hitter from Becker, and Kalli Mathiasen, sophomore setter from St Cloud Apollo. 

Kalie Jergens collected 422 kills this season, 3.58 kills per set, along with her 221 kills from 2016, makes Jergens the new career kills leader in Cyclones record book.  Jergens also now owns the hitting percentage record with a .261.  Jergens also broke 4 other individual records including most kills in a match with 28 against Ridgewater in the Region Championship match. Kalie also was a solid defender earning 385 digs, 3.26 per set and 56 service aces.

Kalli Mathiasen earned 1134 set assists this season and averaged 9.61 set assists per match.  Mathiasen broke the career set assist record (1557) and average set assists per match and 3 additional records.  Kalli's also earned 278 digs, 2.36 per set, and earned 52 service aces.

Coach Heidi Smith states, "I am so proud of these athletes! They both worked hard in the off season and accomplished these great achievements through hard work, discipline and being great teammates. Seeing athletes grow and exceed their own goals is just another reason why I love my job!"
