Cyclones Start Conference Play 2-0

This week opened conference play for the Cyclones.  Wednesday the Cyclones faced Anoka Ramsey Community College at home and earned a 3-0 win (25-9, 25-16, 25-12).  Sophomore setters, Paige Serbus from Redwood Valley, and Jenna Scott from Holidngford, chalked up a total of 23 set assists in the victory.  Kill leaders were, first year Kamryn D'Heilly from Annandale with 6 kills, while Megan Schoborg from St Cloud Tech High, and Rilee Hohbein from Holdingford, both added 5 kills.  Megan also led the team in digs with 13, followed by Tori Nelson, sophomore from New London-Spicer, added 12.  Alex Wright, first year from Coon Rapids, had 4 services aces, with the team totaling 17.

Friday the Cyclones traveled to Worthington, MN to face the #8 ranked team, MN West, and earned another 3-0 win (25-19, 25-8, 27-25).  Setters, Serbus and Scott, earned 17 set assists a piece.  D'Heilly led in kills with 13, followed by Grace Mauersberger, sophomore from St Michael-Albertville, with 12 kills. Megan Schoborg earned led in digs with 17 while Hohbein accrued 5 blocks.  Schoborg and Scott each scored 3 service aces.

The Cyclones' record is now 9-1 overall, 2-0 in the MCAC South and hold a #9 national rank.  Wednesday they travel to Fergus Falls to face the #4 team, M-State.  Friday and Saturday the Cyclones participate in the North Dakota State College of Science tournament.
