Racine named Player of the Week, Men's Basketball clinch regional berth

Cyclones Guard, Eric Racine has been named MCAC Southern Division Player of the Week for his efforts in two Cyclones victories this past week.  The victories improved the Cyclones' record to 20-3 (9-3 conference) heading into the final week of conference play. 

Coming off the bench in a pair of Cyclone wins, Eric Racine has been tabbed the MCAC Southern Division Player-of-the-Week for the week ending February 17.

The freshman guard from Brooklyn Park was 13-of-23 from the floor and hit 11-of-13 free throws on the way to scoring 45 points in wins over Ridgewater College (94-86) and M State-Fergus Falls (90-61).  Racine  also hauled in 11 rebounds, tallied five assists and had five steals. He was 8-of-14 from behind the 3-point line for his team on the week, as SCTCC moved to 9-3 in the Division.

St. Cloud Technical & Community College will face Western Technical College and Riverland Community College in a pair of important contests with significant post-season implications.

 

With the wins last week, the Cyclones have qualified for the 2019 Region XIII tournament hosted at Anoka Ramsey CC.  Quarterfinal games will be played March 1st, Semifinals March 2nd, and Championship March 3rd.  Gametimes and matchups will be released following the completion of the regular season this weekend.  For the most up to date information about SCTCC Athletics.  MCAC standings and scores can be found at www.mcacsports.org
